#PoweredByIndie – how KDP changed my life

Just last week I blogged about how Indie Publishing has changed in the last five years – mostly it's gotten a lot easier, at least when it comes to producing a book.

Amazon and KDP are celebrating Indies for the month of October. As most Indies will tell you, without Amazon and KDP, they wouldn't be were they are now. Amazon and KDP were the front-runners in the self-publishing revolution, providing readers with the Kindle and authors with an easy way to get books to them. Access to Amazon's platform and algorithms has been the biggest game changer for Indie authors bar none.

I published my first book in the fall of 2011 via KDP and haven't looked back. Since then I've been able to quit my job and work full-time as an author. The great thing about this job is that I can do it from anywhere. I spend half the year in Germany and half in Canada. Indie publishing has allowed me to keep earning, no matter where I'm living.
