For the last four years my husband and I have been dividing our time between West Coast Canada and Germany, back and forth, twice a year. I point out West Coast, because the extra four hours (9 total) in time change makes a big difference. It messes with my sleep cycle, which messes with my productivity cycle. It was 3 in the afternoon here today when I finally woke up. 🙂
That's a small price to pay for the privilege of living in Europe part of the year. I do love it here. I love how “old” it is, and the layers of history, the culture, and multi-language speakers. Thankfully, most people speak English!
I'm only here 6 weeks this time, down from 3 months, but long enough to get my fill.
Why do we do this? My husband is a musician, singer-songwriter, with German heritage and has a good fan base here. It's a great place for him to tour. He was on The Voice of Germany last season, so if you're a fan of the franchise you might enjoy watching this.
I guess this counts as a throw back Thursday. I was a nervous wreck and I wasn't even the one performing!
