The end of August is always a bittersweet time for me – it signal's the end of summer, my favorite season (and the shortest one where I'm from), but it also triggers the fall calendar which has its own set of exciting adventures.
The first highlight of August was the release of the 3rd book in the Ginger Gold Mystery series. It can be a boxed set now – it really does feel like a series! I'll be releasing the first 3-book bundle on Amazon in September.
The summer of 2017 was a record-breaking year for forest fires in British Columbia. Here's a recent shot from our deck. With very little rain, warm weather and the occasional gust of wind, we've suffered through a lot of smokey days.
The most exciting thing that happened was all my kids came home for our 2nd annual family reunion. Our daughter (black hair) moved out after four and half years of university and a science degree under her belt. My husband and I are officially empty nesters!
You might recognize the cute little blonde from my social media sites. She's my assistant, Shadi Bleiken, and soon to be my daughter in-law! My son Joel (seated directly behind her) proposed and she said yes! So excited to have her as part of the family. 🙂
Shadi and I met through my son (people always ask).
I wonder what September will bring?
Congrats and wonderful and exciting. Thanks for the terrific pic. It all makes me very happy for you.
Kay Focke (moving to Seattle)
Thanks! I hope you enjoy living in Seattle. 🙂
